Managing great expectations

As a first generation college student, you don't have family to rely on when it comes to what to expect from college... so how do you know what to expect for this semester or quarter if you are a new college student?

The easy answer is don't expect anything! 

That means to be open-minded about what college will be like. The good thing about keeping an open mind about your college experience is that you have nothing to live up to and nothing to be disappointed in. Just take it as it comes.

Regardless of what you do or do not expect, you get what you put into it when it comes to your college experience. So just keep an open mind and be willing to seek out and use resources when something blows your open mind, and you'll be in good shape to start with.
